Summary:
This diploma thesis analyzes the contemporary social problems of Greece and has been investigated whether and how these appear in Elena’s Ardjanidou children books.
In order to accomplish the purpose of the thesis, we have used the method of qualitative content analysis. Our research shows that the author Elena Ardjanidou portrays contemporary social issues and problems in Greece with realism in her books, aiming to influence the readers of her books and, in general, the society. The author avoids teaching by giving the chance to the characters of her books to solve their problems by themselves.
