Summary:
This postgraduate diploma thesis, studies the organization and the evolution of the Greek navy during the reign of Otto in Greece, between 1833-1862. Initially, studies the situation in which the navy was after the arrival of Otto in Greece and then his gradual administrative organization. Thereafter, studies the hierarchy attributed to officers, non commissioned officers and sailors of the navy, and the process of obtaining homogeneity in the outfit that they have brought. The thesis extends to the training of the cadets who were to be the personnel of the navy. The ships of the warship are also recorded and the process of modernization, with the construction of steamboats. In conclusion, an overview of the events of the period is made, in which the Greek Navy acted.
