E-learning in the health sector
Summary:
In recent years there has been a rapid development of medical instruments and agencies that, in practical terms, serve the main purpose of modern medical care and care. Despite this, however, the most important pillar for guaranteed high levels of quality in the health sector is the human factor. This is also the main reason that continuing medical training of health professionals is vital. However, its implementation through conventional and classical methods (through lifelong learning, etc.) is an extremely time consuming but costly action.
In recent years, the use of an increasing number of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and massive open online courses (MOOC'S) in the context of continuing medical training offers the ability to overcome the dangers that result largely from lifelong educational action.
As far as the structure of the work is concerned, will first present some basic concepts of e-learning and the crucial role of new technologies in training, while a significant part of the second chapter will address its advantages and disadvantages as well as its species. In chapter 3 will analyze LMS and MOOC'S as well as their successful examples and applications, and finally in the 4th and final chapter will talk about e-learning to healthcare professionals.
The aim of this diploma thesis is the thorough study and extensive research on the issue of e-learning in the health sector. In order to achieve the above goal, a literature review focused on international, Greek and online literature was carried out so that at the end of this work we were able to draw optimal desirable conclusions.
