Summary:
The present research thesis examines the Armenian School issue. More specifically, there will be a reference to the history of Armenians and the migratory wave that came to Greece, their integration and the establishment of the Armenian school. The action of the Armenian School Armenian Blue Cross of Athens, Levon & Sofia Agopian, as well as the issue of bilingualism, the teaching of their mother tongue alongside with the official language of the host country (Greek language), is being studied. It follows a research concerning the transition of students from a community school to a Greek one. The collection of research material was based on archival research as well as on the structured interview. On the basis of the results of the research, the pupils' attitude towards the community school and the possible issues during their transition to a Greek school are discussed.
