The use of photography and videography as tools for communication and dissemination of Chemistry: macrophotography of chemical reactions
Summary:
The scope of this thesis is to record, study and present in detail the process of macroscopic photographing of chemical reactions in order to communicate the findings to the traditional audience of the educational process (students, chemistry teachers e.t.c.) by means of web2.0 (social media, internet web pages, telecommunications applications). Moreover, the thesis intents to provide suggestions on how the obtained multimedia material could be included in the curriculum of chemistry of the A and the B Grade of Greek High School, which was the tank of the selected topics. Initially, a literature review was carried out on the ways of communication and the diffusion of science, the attitude of the wider audience and the students towards science and specifically chemistry as well as the importance of photography, and specifically the scientific photography as an innovative channel for the communication of science to people.
