Summary:
In the present post, the theoretical framework of reading and philanagnosis and their technical approaches are reflected. It also presents the purpose and role of the public library, as a provider of information and education. One of her roles, is the promotion of philanagnosis. This is achieved through the educational programs that are designed based on a strategic plan and can be implemented within it. The National Library of Greece, as the country's leading library, innovates with the design of such programs, which are implemented in the Greek Libraries Network. By moving to multifunctional and environmentally sustainable Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, there is an opportunity to design and implement new child-centered projects, addressing a sensitive and topical issue, the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations by 2030. These programs are proposed to be implemented in alternative ways of education, utilizing all the premises of the new Public Department of the National Library of Greece.
