Summary:
This thesis presents the way the e-banking has improved, mostly based on internet banking, and if the banks’ costumers have welcomed it or not.
In the first part there is a historical flashback, which starts with the way the bank came to our lives until the last edition of e-banking. Also, there is an analysis over the variations of e-banking and the way its use was affected by the economic crisis in Greece.
In the second section of the project it is concluded the general protection of the users. Primarily there is an explanation of the laws existing to protect the people using e-banking. Simultaneously the main dangers may corrupt the whole system are expatiated. At the end of the section there are a few ways the costumers may be protected, without meaning that they are totally safe.
In addition, on the third chapter there is an analysis of the main positives and negatives the e-banking platforms has in store for the users. Moreover, it is also contained how the whole banking system and the banks have been impacted from the usage of the platform.
In the last chapter, are put the answers of a questionnaire of how the people use or not the e-banking, if they trust it and if they may put their trust over a totally digital bank. The study also contains a questionnaire which is answered by employees in banks for if they also tryst the platform, as it is believed, or not.
Through the survey and a questionnaire reliability test, we are able to see whether the bank customers is familiar with the use of e-banking and also whether they will trust the operation of a virtual bank. In addition, we are able to understand the measures that banks and citizens can take to deal with any difficulties.
