Original Title:
Τοπικά προϊόντα διατροφής στο κέντρο της Αθήνας. H διαχείριση και η προβολή τους ως στοιχείων πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς.
Translated title:
Local food products in the center of Athens. Their management and promotion as elements of cultural heritage.
Summary:
The main issue of the work and the main parameter of the research was the study of local food products in downtown Athens. The choice of the place of inquiry is crucial due to issues such as the type of consumers who visit such stores, the variety and degree of authenticity of the products available on their shelves, the way they are displayed, but also the history and evolution of the businesses that have these products.
Nutrition, especially local nutritional tradition, is an essential pillar of a country's cultural capital and can be used in a variety of ways to strengthen other sectors such as tourism and the local and national economy. The research, which was based on material from the existing bibliography on nutrition, production and consumption, as well as local food products in relation to cultural heritage, added evidence from the on-site research conducted in downtown Athens during June - September 2018, as well as data from online sources.
