Summary:
The present study entitled «Developing and Applying Entrepreneurial Skills in Primary and Secondary Education: Best Practices at European Level» examines the issue of entrepreneurship integrated into education. The main purpose of this thesis is to highlight the necessity of integrating entrepreneurship at every level of education as students acquire many skills in the short but especially in the long run, which help to shape their own careers and to shape their personality in general.
The first chapters clarify the concept of entrepreneurship that many misinterpret and treat with caution. At the same time, the meaning of entrepreneurial education, its purpose and goals, as well as the role of the educator in its implementation in the school context are analysed. Also, some ways to cultivate and promote students’ entrepreneurial skills are presented. Afterwards, a list of some general actions as well as specific methods of applying entrepreneurship in all three stages of education with a focus on Primary and Secondary Education is described.
The importance of developing and applying entrepreneurial skills through learning by doing in an appropriately shaped classroom climate is therefore highlighted in this project. Finally, the conclusions and suggestions for future research conclude the thesis, the subject of which requires further investigation, especially in Greece.
