The implementation of continuing vocational training in Greece and Europe
Summary:
The aim of this thesis is to present the importance of education and training of the workforce for both enterprises and society via people’s will for lifelong learning. European countries as well as Eurostat have developed a survey through questionnaires trying to define and assess the state of lifelong learning in Europe and furthermore to measure the provision of courses and programs for the continuing vocational training of the employees. Based on the above mentioned survey we will present the benefits of education and training as well as the various approaches to funding continuing vocational training by different funding sources. Data from Eurostat survey are analyzed and presented in charts; they show that both, business size and its economic activity affect the hours spent by employers in forming the training course of their employees. Finally, we will report the implementation of continuing vocational training in Greece.
