Animation’s development in the production of educational material at Lyceum Physical Εducation class
Summary:
This study aims at investigating the promotion of lifelong physical activities for health and quality of life in adolescent high school students through the use of new technologies and in particular through the creation of a film with the stopmotion technique.
The problematic issue in which this research was identified in the attempt to explore an alternative method of teaching concepts of Physical Education and how animation can be effective in changing students' attitudes and beliefs about lifelong physical activities. The main question was not only to indedify some key blockers that might prevent students from actively participating in physical activity but this important issue had to be approached through activities where students could understand the concepts of life long exercise and quality of life. Pivotal point was the involvement of students as creators and not just as users of digital applications and tools.
Through the literature review were presented the definition of creativity and the role of Physical Education in promoting lifelong physical activites for quality of life. At the same time, emphasis was placed on their connection to audiovisual literacy through information and communication technologies and especially through the animation. Quantitative research was used to draw the conclusions, the results of which were collected from the implementation of the educational intervention. Changes in participants behaviors, creations, and individual benefits of this educational process were indications of students' creativity and the integration of audiovisual education into the Physical Education subject.
