The purpose of this study is to investigate the safety of prophylactic loop ileostomy following colon resection for various reasons.
In addition, this study aims to present the percentage of possible complications associated with prophylactic loop ileostomy after various types of colectomy. Resection of the colon in patients included in this study was performed due to pathological conditions affecting the colon, such as colon cancer and ulcerative colitis.
