The Relationship between Aggression and Emotional Symptom Type, between Adolescents with Functional Autism and Adolescents with Learning Disabilities
Summary:
The purpose of the present study is to determine whether and to what extent aggressive behavior is associated with autism or learning difficulties. Also, compare what disorder appears to have the highest rates and which emotional or cognitive factors affect the phenomenon. The sample includes fifty four (54) students in the pool and will be representative of both genders (boys and girls). They also come from the age group of eleven (11) to eighteen (18) years. The results show that our research confirms the results of earlier studies that have shown that Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Learning Disabilities (MS) are associated with increased aggression. Aggressive behavior is a major concern with proven negative impacts on quality of life for people with Autism and their caregivers, as well as people with MS. Behavioral challenges often put people with ASD and their caregivers at risk for personal injury and limit the effectiveness of therapeutic, educational and occupational interventions.
