The primary education in the Prefecture of Laconia during the Otto period (1833-1862)

This is an essay on primary education in the Prefecture of Laconia during the Otto period (1833-1862), which describes how schools worked in that period. The first chapter refers to the historical background with the reference of the seven (7) historical periods from ancient times until today and the description of the most important areas of Laconia. The second chapter refers to the establishment and the operation of schools during the Otto period with a historical flashback since the period of Ottoman sovereignty and kapodistrian era. Issues of architecture of schools are analyzed as well as issues of land planning interest according to the specifications of the Guide of J. Kokkones. Subsequently there are mentioned in details the schools which operated in the Otto era. The third chapter is mentioned to issues related to teaching staff and it is separated in two parts: a) to the designations, transpositions and redundancies and b) in salary issues. The fourth chapter mentions to the supervisory material and books. Last, the fifth chapter is referred to the students, the role of their parents and the examinations.
