National and european citizenship. Relation and perspectives

The first chapter of this paper is an attempt to highlight the theoretical background and context through the analysis of concepts People and the Nation. The second chapter and the third chapter present the concept of citizenship and the jurisprudential developments that defined and shaped this concept and the dialogue on legal matters which started with Bill 3838/2010 and the subsequent decisions of the Council of State, 350/2011 and 460/2013. The fourth chapter analyzes the concept of European citizenship and the relation to national citizenship. It highlights the importance of European citizenship and finally, in the fifth chapter, in the conclusion, is preceded the empowerment of European citizenship as a lever that may assist in the process of European integration. The thesis was based mainly on secondary sources with their references.
