Spectacle; Political Liberation and Manipulation
Summary:
It is a study that approaches the spectacle as a tool for creating political consciousness: activation or subordination. The work focuses on a genealogical retrospective of Marxist contemplation on the function of spectacle. Using a foucaultian perspective, as a methodological tool, and examining a historical range from Plato to Ranciere, we discover ways in which Marxist creators and thinkers have critiqued and created an art of spectacle in the service of society. The reasoning that developed in this work seeks the genealogical footsteps of the evaluative criteria upon which Marxist philosophical and artistic reflection was based, with the aim of relativizing them and thus opening up a space of re-critique by readers.
