Middle East: The maintenance of peace through religious pluralism
Summary:
Maintaining peace is a key aspect of International Relations and
a necessary condition for the coexistence of millions of people around the world.
In particular, for all those who wish to practice their religion
rights and obligations without persecution and oppression,
displacement and torture by non-religious groups, but on the contrary
their religious beliefs to be respected and recognized by
any status. After all, in an area with a strong religious character,
the exercise of religious rights as well as the peaceful coexistence of many
different religious entities are a security factor and
stability for itself. It is worth noting - though it certainly is
a separate historical study - that in their long journey, the three great ones
religious entities, Christianity, Islam and Judaism have
demonstrate their ability and need to coexist and
interact under a common context.
This framework can be produced
through cultural interconnections and finding links and partnerships.
In recent years due to the extreme polar instability and civil war
During the war in Syria, the effects of religious oppression have increased. The
problems that have arisen for the religious communities in the region are
varied. The long duration of the civil war in Syria, the
which contributed to increased sectarianism and religious persecution.
At the same time, in places like Jordan or even Turkey the religious
pluralism is affected by civic instability. For example, in the last
since the 2016 coup, many religious minorities have been oppressed
and neglected by the regime. On the other hand, an attempt is made to
create a new field of convergence of differences between religious groups
through inter-religious dialogue, to preserve their cultural heritage and to promote religious pluralism through the media and media
social networking, but also through joint initiatives at international level.
