In the present paper, movies Drakos (The Ogre of Athens,1956) by Nikos Koundouros and Dogman (2018) by Matteo Garrone meet and acquire a dialectic relationship, in order to investigate on one hand the timeless archetype of the antihero, central figure in both works, and on the other hand the way the male subject is constituted and performed while being in a state of fear, anxiety and uncertainty.
