Philip Pettit & Ian Carter: Liberty and its restrictions
Summary:
This thesis focuses on how Philip Pettit and Ian Carter view the potentiality of a well established unfree relationship between agents, without a party clearly interfering on the choices of the other (dominated) party. Both Philosophers are exploring this scheme through a different theoretical framework. While Ian Carter is clearly influenced from the libertarian school of thought (and heavily influenced by Isaiah Berlin), Philip Pettit follows the reputed Neo Roman or Republican tradition and its view on Domination and Political Liberty
