The role of school leadership in improving teaching and learning

The present work deals with the role of school leadership in improving and enhancing the educational process and learning.
We have been particularly interested in the various forms of leadership, and we have tried to highlight the pros and cons of each type. We focused especially on Pedagogical Leadership, as it is a model of leadership that focuses on the development of the school through the development of teaching and learning.
In addition to the professional skills a leader must possess, he / she must promote a team-friendly environment based on collaboration and mutual respect among members, encourage and encourage improvement and development, and strive to inspire school community members in to pursue a common vision. A school leader must also provide opportunities for teachers and students to make decisions and support by all means the implementation of new teaching practices to improve teaching.
All of the above has also been a part of our research work, from which we draw useful conclusions about how teachers perceive the role and attitudes of the headmaster as a school unit leader.
