The Use of ICT in Adults' Distance Learning.
Summary:
This work is concerned with exploring the use of New Technologies (ICT) in distance learning for adults and it is divided into two parts. Initially, in the theoretical part of the work, reference is made to the basic theoretical principles of adult education, the main features of adult education, open and distance learning, and modern digital media and adult education, such as MOOCs and OERs. The following are the benefits of using ICT in adult education and the limitations on the use of ICT in adult education. Here is a reference to the challenges of integrating ICT into adult education. Below is the distance learning and its importance, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of distance learning. The theoretical part of the work is completed with reference to ICT and distance learning. The second part of the thesis includes a systematic review of the literature. The purpose of this systematic review is to study the use of New Technologies (ICT) in distance learning for adults. Through the review of the outcomes, it is intended to formulate proposals on how to manage New Technologies in order to improve the learning process of adult learners. The research questions that are expected to be answered by this review of the literature relate to the major benefits of distance learning for adult learners, the major problems of distance learning for adult learners and the prospects for future development of ICT use in distance learning . From the systematic review and on the basis of the inclusion and exclusion criteria, there were finally 15 articles published in 2010-2019. After selecting the surveys based on the specific integration criteria and the evaluation of their methodological quality, their categorization, the recording of the individual data and the synthesis and interpretation of the results were followed, aiming to make concrete conclusions.
