Summary:
Abstract
Today’ s era is characterized by the rapid development of technology and science. It is necessary to go along with this development in all aspects and specifically in the education field. Schools prepare tomorrow’ s citizens, who should be ready to deal with the new requirements and the new situations, which are prompted by the modern world. The situation that our country is currently experiencing, in the context of the economic crisis, is responsible for the opportunity for some to follow developments and for the fact that some are deprived of this opportunity.
However, Greek schools are overwhelmed by students with learning disabilities. Do technological developments and new technologies in education help to address these difficulties effectively? Are teachers well trained to meet the requirements that may arise? Through these reflections two research questions were raised. 1. Do ICTs Contribute to Primary Education and How? 2. Do ICTs make a positive contribution to inclusive education?
In the theoretical part, a bibliographical research was carried out and in the practice 2 qualitative research tools were used, the case study and the interview. The survey involved teachers from different parts of Greece in order to have a more comprehensive picture. The results have shown that although we are undergoing a period of modernization, there are still many teachers who lack knowledge of computer and other audiovisual media or learning disabilities. This is a cause for concern, because they know that many children face such difficulties and as the years go by, their numbers will increase. After all, they believe that New Technologies make a positive contribution to inclusive education. It is therefore necessary to train them.
