Perceptions of teachers' of Primary Education about the effect of Emotional Intelligence on managing students with behavioral problems
Summary:
Purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of teachers’ Emotional Intelligence on students' behavioral problems. After the theoretical framework of Emotional Intelligence and students' behavioral problems, as well as the comprehensive correlation of Emotional Intelligence with learning and the educational process, it is analyzed the empirical research conducted in the context of this conceptual inquiry work about the role of Emotional Intelligence in the management of students with behavioral difficulties. The sample of the research was 100 teachers of Primary Education of Athens. A 49question questionnaire was completed from participants to collect demographic information and assess participants Emotional Intelligence levels and their ability to manage their students' specific behavioral difficulties.
The results of the research showed a positive effect of teachers’ high Emotional Intelligence on the management of students' behavioral problems and identified the factors of Emotional Intelligence that are predictive in managing these problems.
