Summary:
The present thesis focuses on the issue of Empathy and Emotional Intelligence in individuals with autism spectrum, and in particular for those diagnosed with High-Functioning Autism. More specifically, it examines autism and its various manifestations, as well as the way it is diagnosed and treated. Then, the notions of Emotional Intelligence and Empathy are given importance. Their content and species have been analyzed as well as their specific characteristics. Importance is given to individuals with autism spectrum disorder, and in particular they have been diagnosed with High Functional Autism and to the extent that they can develop Emotional Intelligence and Empathy. In addition, the most prevalent methods of teaching these skills are presented and the extent to which they are accepted by the international community. The study concludes with the findings of the research. Greek and foreign bibliography as well as articles and electronic sources were used for her writing.
