Summary:
The purpose of this research is to develop Environmental Performance Indicators (EPIs) for the design of Greek policy. The main objective is to promote and develop the necessary process in order to defining environmental performance indicators and their use for policy planning in Greece.
It is true that in order to take the right decisions, reliable information is needed on the state of the environment, but also on the factors that influence it. There is a great deal of information available on the environment, but also a wealth of information on community development and environmental persuasion.
However, it is easy to get lost in the mess of information and eventually lose the key message. Because of this, we need a whole bunch of statistics that summarize information highlights the key issues and helps policymakers and the public understand better.
In this Thesisthe concept of environmental indicators is discussed in Netherlands and in the United Kingdom and the concepts of climate change of water ways and solid waste, including the conclusions of the research, according to the present law.
