From 2001, the Bank of Greece is an integral part of the Eurosystem, which consists of the European Central Bank (ECB) and the national central banks (NCBs) of the European Union (EU) Member States participating in the euro area.
The Bank, apart from the financial one, has another face, almost unknown, as it has cultural treasures and develops cultural actions that are linked to:

- the very important Historical Archive, which collects the archives of the governors of BoG,

- its valuable Collections of artworks (about 3,000pieces),

- the Museum of BoG, which presents Greece’s modern monetary and economic history.

In the present work, the case study will be the central building of the BoG, which occupies a whole block in the center of Athens for 80 years. It was planned to accommodate all the administrative services, the Library, the Historical Archive and the Art Collections. For the time it was built (1938), this building was one of the most evolved version of office buildings in Greece, but -since nowadays- gradually it was overcome technologically.
As in the last years the concept of prevention against natural, technological or terrorist disasters is self-evident, the subject of the work will be the drafting of the Disaster Response Plan for the main building of the BoG and the analysis of the options that will emerge.
