This paper is a historical presentation and critical review of American Folklore in the 1960s as at the time Folklore began to be renewed, through the New Perspective scientific movement reflected in the studies of American Folklorists Dan Ben-Amos, Alan Dundes , Roger D. Abrahams who revised the methodological tools, introduced new meanings that changed the observation, approach, interpretation of folklore. In addition, folklore was perceived from American Folklore as a set of phenomena that refer to almost every aspect of daily life, in every society. Furthermore, it is evident from the essay that the definition of Folklore by Dan Ben-Amos contributed decisively to the science of Folklore an folklore studies.
