The settlement pattern changes in ancient Thessaly, from the Archaic to the Roman period.
Summary:
The euphoria of the Thessalian plain was a constant and endless source of development for the people who lived in it. However, the Thessalians do not play a leading role in ancient Greek history and therefore the image of ancient Thessaly involves several empties and problematic issues. Thus, the present study aims to capture the residential grid of Thessaly, as it is detected through historical and archaeological data. This work is a detailed periodic survey of the residential image in Thessaly, aiming to identify changes in housing, as it is archaeologically recorded. However, it is not limited to the simple recording and description of housing development but also attempts to interpret the reasons that led to the changes in housing organization from period to period, contrasting them with modern historical circumstances.
