INVESTIGATION OF THE ATMOSPHERIC POLLEN WITH REMOTE SENSING METHODS
Summary:
The object of this Thesis is the study of the optical properties of aerosols with remote sensing methods. We analysed Lidar data and data retrieved from a Cimel phasmatophotometer. The description of pollen is analysed in the first chapter.
Then, we present the Lidar System, the basic definitions of the optical properties of lidars and the principal of operation for the fluorecence lidar.
Afterwards a detailed description of experimental equipment that were used for the retrieval of the data, the region of the study and the principal of operation of the phasmatophotometers of the AERONET network is presented.
The determination of the optical properties in the first layer detected, from the analysis of lidar and AERONET measurements performed during 2016 is analyzed. We also present the correlation between the lidar ratio, the depolarization ration and the Angstrom exponent, as well as the effect of relative humidity to the optical properties retrieved.
We also compare the optical propertier for the fisrt layers of aerosols, as retrieved by lidar and AERONET data. The spectral correlation of the lidar ratio has also been investigated. We compared the lidar ratio from lidar an AERONET data, for the first layer and the entire atmospheric column.
Apart from this, we tried to find a correlation between the size distribution of aerosols and the spectral correlation of single scattering albedo and we presented the basic conclusions which resulted from this thesis.
