Theoretical review and empirical evaluation of Corporate Social Responsibility: Research for Greece
Summary:
The doctoral dissertation studies the causal relationship between Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Financial Performance. Specifically, the influence that CSR exerts on Financial Performance and the way it is exercised.
Following approaches that are widely encountered in the international literature as a result of bibliographic review and systematic bibliographic review, methodological techniques are developed in which CSR and Financial Performance are approached in combination with the characteristics of the organizations to be analyzed.
The main research question is as follows:
"Corporate Social Responsibility affects Financial Performance of an organization and how? Are organizations that implement extensive CSR actions highly cost-effective?
In relation to this question, the main objective is (a) the theoretical and methodological approach of CSR in a comprehensive context, taking into account the extensions of the concept and the theories developed around it and (b) the description of the contexts of the empirical approach on the basis of which the situation prevailing in the Greek data is ascertained.
