Αντιδράσεις α-αλκυλίωσης με σύμπλοκες ενώσεις του μονοσθενούς χαλκού

a-Alkylation reactions with Cu(I) complexes
Summary:
α-Αlkylation reactions (C-C coupling) constitute an innovative and green synthetic process to prepare new organic molecules. As catalyst mostly Ruthenium and Iridium complexes have been reported while Copper(I) analogues have been studied to a lesser extent.
Ιn this MSc thesis a new heteroleptic Copper(I) complex of the general formula [Cu(L1)(dppe)]PF6, where L1 stands for 6-bromo-4-phenyl-2,2΄-pyrid- -quinoline and dppe=1,2-Bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane, was prepared.
α-Αlkylation of acetophenone with benzyl alcohol was studied , in various base ratios. Optimization of the reaction conditions were undertaken, revealing that the reaction was finished after 2 h of reflux. We realized that the ratio of the organic products,1,3-diphenyl-propanole and 1,3-diphenyl-propanone was 60:40, according to H-NMR spectroscopy. Finally, the same reactions were performed with substituted acetophenone derivatives (-Cl, -Br, -F, -OMe).
