Summary:
This thesis aims to highlight the important role of a human resources management department in a modern company. The main objective of the analysis is to find how and in what way the human resources management department of our case study company (Kotsovolos) applied and implemented the new model of employment known as remote working or teleworking. Firstly, we describe the role of human resources management in businesses’ evolution. We then analyze the shock that businesses faced with the beginning of the pandemic, and we highlight the new reality imposed mostly to human resource management departments by the new remote working circumstances and the challenges they had to face. We then present our case study questionnaire research and its results, regarding the employees’ experience with teleworking and the role of human resources management department of our target company Kotsovolos. Finally, conclusions are drawn regarding the prospects of maintaining teleworking and the ways of using it after the end of the pandemic.
