Digital tranformation in healthcare
Summary:
Digital innovation plays a strategic role in many areas and healthcare is one of the most fertile areas where technologies can make a difference. Digital Health, a concept that concerns the application of digital technologies to support innovation in the health system for the more effective provision of services, the rationalization of communication between health units and citizens, etc. It is possible to securely transmit medical information and data for the purposes of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and subsequent monitoring of patients. Although it is true that telemedicine services are comparable to any diagnostic/therapeutic health service, they do not replace the traditional health service, but rather integrate it to improve its effectiveness and efficiency. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the main changes that caused the digitization process in the healthcare sector, highlighting the strategic role of all actors. Digitalization is the primary element in producing better systems, creating, and perfecting the technological infrastructure that not only makes it possible to ensure more efficient and efficient services, but also to optimize economic costs and financial costs. The digital health phenomenon is creating a new competitive market in healthcare and operators must decide whether to continue to suppress competition or make competition a central value.
