Summary:
In most folk tales and fairy tales animals are the protagonists while in all its forms the folk tradition reflects the views of the society. Education is the main conduit of tradition and fairy tales are the main educational tool especially in the lower levels, so through fairy tales it becomes easier to reproduce and perpetuate stereotypes and specific moral rules and attitudes towards animals. The research part studies eight fairy tales from the collection "Classic Fairy Tales" in which there are various stereotypes about animals and give us information about the social background of the time in which these stories were created, but at the same time one can distinguish features of modern society our attitude towards them.
