The contribution of creative writing in the teaching of Kostas Ouranis poetry with the help of Drama in education
Summary:
The present thesis is questioning the participation of creative writing in the teaching of poetry with the help of Drama in education. Taking into account that the students interest in poetry through conventional techniques is rather low, it is suggested a more experiental approach instead, entitled “journey in Kostas Ouranis poetry, his poetry as a journey”, which actually combines the musicality of poetic discourse with the atmosphere of drawing and theatrical expression. Initially, a detailed presentation of contemporary research data and bibliography is argumented in terms of creative writing. What is more, major information related to life, Kostas Ouranis poetic work, era, art movement and the specific characteristics entailed in poet’s work is actually given, having as a basic topic “the journey”. In terms of the suggested lesson plans, certain worksheets related to the aforementioned subject were created. Finally, the creative part includes an attempt at poetic writing and an original theatrical monologue. of Drama in the teaching of literature at school.
