Σεργκέι Προκόφιεφ, Σονάτα για πιάνο αρ. 6, σε Λα-μείζονα, opus 82: Μία ερμηνευτική ανάλυση βασισμένη στη διδασκαλία του Artur Schnabel

Sergei Prokofiev, Piano Sonata No. 6 in A major, Opus 82: An Interpretative Analysis Based on the Teaching of Artur Schnabel
Summary:
In this study, an interpretative analysis of Sergei Prokofiev’s Piano Sonata No. 6 in A major, Op. 82 was undertaken, following the principles of Arthur Schnabel. Despite the fact that the interpretative approach (as systematized by Konrad Wolff) primarily focuses on works spanning up to the mature Romantic period, a significant number of its fundamental principles and interpretative guidelines were applied. This resulted in a comprehensive, in-depth analysis, supplemented mainly by elements of morphological analysis (always in broad terms), personal observations, and suggestions by Boris Berman—sometimes deriving from his “orchestral” way of thinking, and at other times concerning the character and style of each movement or excerpt. Despite the debatable aspects of Schnabel’s method and its repertoire limitations, it can serve as a valuable tool for an in-depth interpretative analysis of a twentieth-century work that is not written in an atonal idiom and follows a more traditional formal structure.
