Children's play in the community of Naxos
Summary:
This study examines the evolution of games in Naxos, analyzing their role in the socialization and educational experience of children, through interviews with individuals of different generations. The purpose of the research is to explore the changes that have occurred in the way children play, focusing on the cultural and social values reflected in the game. The older participants described games of their childhood that were based on natural materials, teamwork and improvisational creation, while the younger participants mentioned the impact of technology, the transition to digital games and differentiated social interactions. The results show that games shape cultural identity and learning, while the transition from traditional games to modern electronics has brought about significant changes in the social structure and pedagogical value of games. Finally, the study suggests ways to integrate the cultural heritage of games into the modern educational process, in order to preserve the social and cultural values that they promote.
