<dc:description xml:lang="en">This research study investigates high school students’ mathematical creativity through their engagement with geometric construction problems in the Dynamic Geometry Environment (DGE) Geometer’s Sketchpad. The main aim is to explore how students’ creative actions-such as taking risks, making connections, acting under uncertainty, and using tools-contribute to the development of mathematical meaning during problem-solving processes. The theoretical framework draws on Rhodes’ (1961) four-dimensional model (person, process, product, and press), combined with the perspective of mathematical creativity as an interplay between divergent and convergent thinking (Leikin, 2009), and the Creativity in Progress Rubric (CPR) (El Turkey et al., 2018, 2024), which is adapted and enriched for the purposes of this study. The research data derive from the work of groups of first and second-year high school students on three geometric construction tasks designed within Geometer’s Sketchpad to encourage discovery, conjecture formulation, and justification. The analysis revealed that mathematical creativity emerges as a dynamic interaction between the person, the process, and the product: students’ individual cognitive choices (person) fuel creative processes of exploration and reasoning (process), which in turn lead to the production of mathematical conjectures and proofs (product). The use of Sketchpad tools particularly dragging and measurement-proved crucial for the evolution of creative actions and, consequently, for students’ transition from experimental exploration to reasoning and proof. The study concludes that Dynamic Geometry Environments, when combined with well-designed construction tasks, can serve as effective frameworks for cultivating and fostering mathematical creativity within the classroom.</dc:description>
