<dc:description xml:lang="en">This thesis focuses on the treatment of psoriasis with biologic agents and small molecules in the COVID-19 era, emphasizing practical decision-making during periods of high viral circulation. It outlines the main biologic classes, including inhibitors of the IL-23 and IL-17 pathways and tumor necrosis factor blockers, and discusses their effectiveness, tolerability, and durability of response in routine care. Small molecule therapies are also presented as oral options that target intracellular signaling and can serve patients who prefer non injectable regimens or have contraindications to biologics. The work synthesizes pragmatic management principles, such as continuing therapy for most patients, using short temporary holds only in the presence of active moderate or severe infection, and resuming treatment after recovery. Guidance is provided on aligning treatment schedules with vaccination, counseling about potential flares, and supporting adherence to maintain stable disease control. The thesis further addresses modifiers of disease course, including psychological stress and metabolic comorbidities, and proposes monitoring strategies centered on safety assessments and sustained clinical remission. Overall, it delivers a clear and actionable framework that balances deep skin clearance with ongoing risk evaluation in the context of COVID-19.</dc:description>
