<dc:description xml:lang="en">The master thesis “One Health – the need for a single common human and planetary health” is a literature review focusing on the analysis of the "One Health" approach. "One Health" is defined in the joint action plan of the World Health Organization (WHO) in relation to the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The paper focuses on whether the One Health approach could contribute to the prevention of diseases and pandemics as well as to the limitation of climate change. The paper begins with a historical overview of how the "One Health" approach was created and how it ultimately emerged as a response to contemporary challenges arising from the relationship between human health, animal health, and environmental health. The paper continues with a comparative study of the "One Health" approach on different continents. At the same time, the thesis refers to the stakes of public health, but also to the difficulties individuals face in accessing the public health system. Overall, the paper examines the role of the World Health Organization and the United Nations in promoting policies that strengthen cooperation and integrated management of health issues, considering both flora and fauna health. Through this approach, the paper highlights the importance of cooperation between different sectors and states for the effective management of the environmental and health challenges of the 21st century.</dc:description>
