<dc:description xml:lang="en">This thesis explores traditional forms of participation as mechanisms for social resilience under conditions of uncertainty. Using the three ESDN participation rationales (instrumental, substantive, normative) as a theoretical framework, it conducts a cross-local synthesis of eight practices from Greece (Sasmos, Ikarian Festivals, Anastenaria, Agricultural Cooperatives) and Africa (Xeer, Gadaa, Palaver Tree, TEK). The research is complemented by interviews with citizens possessing significant experiential knowledge in local crisis management. Based on the indications, two action models are proposed: «Platanos», based on experiential knowledge transfer from elders, and the «2-Generation Alliance», where youth utilize digital tools to safeguard tradition. This study argues that integrating traditional moral commitment into modern participatory frameworks enhances intergenerational cooperation and community empowerment, offering sustainable solutions where formal state mechanisms often fail.</dc:description>
