<dc:description xml:lang="en">Horror is the genre that most powerfully reflects the anxieties of each era, articulating concerns that, under ordinary circumstances, cannot be openly discussed. Within this framework, the present study examines its relationship with the LGBTQIΑ+ community. Its central question is how the representation of queer identities is achieved through the cinematic tradition of horror, and what such representation reveals, whether it reproduces the dominant discourse surrounding this social group or gives voice to members of the community themselves. The study focuses on the human body and its depiction within the subgenre of body horror, which is analysed through three films from recent cinema: "Jennifer’s Body" (2009), directed by Karyn Kusama; "La piel que habito" (2011), directed by Pedro Almodóvar; and "Titane" (2021), directed by Julia Ducournau. These films engage with distinct thematic concerns and explore different critical issues. What unites them is their exploration of transformation, a process inscribed upon the bodies of their protagonists, compelling them to embark on parallel journeys whose common point of departure is trauma.</dc:description>
