Summary:
The purpose of this study is evaluating the need for proper organization of
primary health care structures for the prehospital treatment of trauma and
highlight the importance and significance of education of doctors of various
specialties and especially for Greece of GPs due to the geographical
particularities of our country.
This paper is a literature review of articles published in reputable medical
journals regarding the prehospital treatment of major trauma.
Reference and description of the basic rules of emergency medicine, reference
to education applies to anyone involved with the treatment of trauma in
different countries. A description and evaluation of new and innovative
emergency trends and made a rough assessment of our own reality through
reference and comparison of structures and existing models of prehospital
trauma treatment in different countries and Greece.
Proper handling of minor injuries, safe exclusion of severe trauma and
medically accurate and on time prehospital intervention are the keys of proper
wound treatment. The organization of Primary Care structures for "lege artis"
prehospital management of trauma should be also in Greece utmost importance and
priority.
