Summary:
In this dissertation, it will be thoroughly analyzed the effects of
environmental factors on human health and especially on the skin.

Initially, it will be analyzed the anatomy, physiology and function of the
skin, in order to have a better understanding of various skin diseases.

It will be analyzed the free radicals and their effects in the body as related
to multiple biological phenomena such as senility and carcinogenesis.

In additional, it will be analyzed the positive and the negative effects of
solar radiation on human health and especially on skin. These negative effects
can be the result of either the acute exposure to solar radiation or the
long-term exposure to it.

Moreover, it will be thoroughly analyzed the air pollution impacts to human
health. The diseases, related to the skin, that have exacerbation because of
environmental pollution are the skin aging, the skin cancer and other allergic
and toxic dermatitis.

Finally, endocrine disruptors such as dioxins, pesticides, genetically modified
food, alcohol, smoking and some cosmetics cause significant problems to health
and skin.
