The calculation of the level of health is the main issue in each design firm,
implementation and organization of health. However, the recording of health
numbers is not always feasible. In this effort, of morbidity index is as
important now, because it allows the description of nosology profile of the
population, providing data on the development and the cause of disease and
needs aimed at proper organization and
proper planning of health services.
The calculation of morbidity contributes to shaping health policy in both the
identification of requirements and the calculation of the health effect.
The purpose of this work is the depiction of nosology Greeks profile the
current period, the search for causes an increase or decrease in the rate of
morbidity and the comparison of the index between the EU countries and Greece,
the identification of individual diseases or groups of similar diseases
requiring special attention and adoption of rational interventions and finally
the presentation of target (cost effective) proposals based on the results of
the study on health policy development and improved quality of life.
