RFA και MWA μεταστάσεων επινεφριδίων από Ca πνεύμονα
Languages:

Summary:
Percutaneus ablative approaches such as RFA-MWA have been recently described in
the treatment of adrenal tumors with encouraging results .Local tumor ablation
in the adrenal glands of patients with metastatic lung cancer presents unique
challenges, secondary to adrenal gland’s unique anatomic and physiologic
features. Particularly, local therapy of isolated adrenal metastasis in
patients with non-small cell lung cancer seems to improve survival.
The purpose of this retrospective study is to evaluate the initial and long
term experience of RFA and MWA of adrenal metastasis in patients with non-small
cell lung cancer.
A total of 47 patients were treated with local anesthesia under CT imaging
guidance.
The average ablative time for RFA was 11min thus for MWA 5min.
Succesfull treatment was achieved in 100% of the patients after 1-2 ablation
sessions. ΜWA showed better results in the first try. There were no
life-threatening complications.
The mean follow up time was 21 months without any recurence.
The comparative study of RF and MW ablative techniques shows their effectives
in the local control of metastatic lung cancer and augment the long term
survival rate.
