Impact investigation of future sea level rising in seaside regions with dunes
Summary:
Τhe rapid sea level rise, according to the extreme scenario of IPCC leads to
retreat several φρομ tens to hundreds meters . Measurements were made in three
different regions in Greece (Kyparissia Gulf, Lagoon Korission and resulted in
the essessment of expected results retreat of the shoreline for these areas,
according to the model of Brunn, Dean, Kriebel and Dean. The results showed
that especially in the case of the IPCC ‘s extreme scenario (sea level rise by
1m) shorelines ‘s retreat will cause, in some cases, completely disaster of
the beach.
