Summary:
This dissertation focuses on Large Eddy Simulation of sheared, convective and
free-convective boundary layer. In addition a further study of the special case
of free-convection takes place: the concept of minimum friction velocity and a
proposed method by Akylas et al (2003) for the extraction of the influence of
the ambient wind which exists in field measurements, are examined.
