Study of radio II bursts observed with the radio spectrograph ARTEMIS IV and association with solar eruptive events
Summary:
A catalogue and an online data base of type II solar radio bursts in the
20-687MHz range, observed with the radio spectrograph ARTEMIS IV operated by
the University of Athens at Thermopylae, Greece from 1998-2011 is presented.
These observations, compared with LASCO and GOES archives of Coronal Mass
Ejections and solar flares, are examined for possible associations. The study
of type II CME associated bursts led to an independent validation of the hybrid
density model of Vrisnak. From this dataset we use the type II characteristics
in an investigation on the Coronal Magnetic Field.
