Summary:
The goal of this work has been the isolation and structure elucidation of
substances from the extracts of the plants Cistus creticus and Bellis
longifolia and their possible phytotoxic activity.
The phytochemical investigation of the dichloromethanolic extract of the ground
of the area around Cistus creticus led to the isolation of eight compounds,
including four labdene diterpenes, three sterols and a triterpene.Structure
determination was based on 1D, 2D NMR experiments and GCMS techniques.
The methanolic extract of Bellis longifolia was firstly elaborated by
countercurrent chromatography (CCC) using the step-gradient method. The direct
isolation of one secondary metabolite was achieved. Moreover, five fractions
were selected for further purification using TLC preparative and Sephadex
column. Structure determination was based on 1D, 2D NMR experiments and
ESI-HRMS techniques.
The phytochemical investigation of the methanolic extract obtained from Bellis
longifolia led to the isolation and structure elucidation of ten compounds
including five phenolic compounds (four flavonoids, and one phenolic acid
derivative), two triterpenes and three new triterpene saponins.
